TIPS FOR GREAT WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHS 1) Go to the best location for wildlife of interest (Squirrels easier to find in Dallas, Giraffe easier to find in Africa). 2) Devote sufficient time for your trip (you may have to wait days to find wildlife for that perfect shot) 3) Be wise in packing and traveling (bring telephoto (long) lens, extra batteries) 4) Shoot at best times of day (early morning or late afternoon if wildlife gives you that opportunity) 5) Be flexible due to weather conditions (waterfalls on overcast days, and lighthouses with colorful sunsets/sunrises) 6) Have patience waiting for wildlife (I waited 5 days to photograph moose in Maine lake) 7) Ensure long lens stability (you should use tripod with long lens or use 1/500th of a second shutter speed) 8) Use correct equipment (75-200 mm lens when you can get close to wildlife, 400-600 mm when you cannot) 9) Use SLR cameras (with replaceable lens) instead of point and shoot cameras if you want to make very large sharp enlargements to frame). Have fun shooting and have a wonderful day! Your friend and Author,
